About Us
The Marches Construction Ready Programme is backed by an innovative partnership of local organisations all committed to improving the lives and prospects of local people.
Aimed at people keen to work in general construction the programme promotes opportunities for candidates who would not traditionally enter into a career in construction,
the Construction Ready programme offer is open to all.
Our goal is to train 400 people from across The Marches area and to secure ongoing employment opportunities that boost the delivery of construction projects locally.
Funded by the Department for Education and the Construction Industry Skills Board (CITB) through the Construction Skills Fund,
and supported by The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership, Telford and Wrekin Council and Shropshire Council the project’s partners are:
Telford College, a leading further education college who provide opportunities for 8,000 students
Landau Ltd, a not-for-profit supported employment and training organisation
The Wrekin Housing Trust, a leading social landlord with 13,000 homes for affordable rent and shared ownership across Shropshire and Staffordshire
Beattie Passive Build System Ltd, award winning providers of the UK’s first timber framed passivhaus construction system
The Construction Ready programme also extends to a wider network of strategic and operational partners.
Using a central hub located in Telford coupled with mobile training units,
the partnership has created a unique model for delivering construction sector training to support affordable housing delivery across a wide geographical area.
