Information for Candidates

The Marches Construction Ready Partnership aims to create 400 new local construction workers through its hub based model for construction sector training. Training hubs will deliver essential skills in construction and create employment opportunities for learners. Delivered over three phases the Construction Ready programme will equip participants to be:

Work Ready

The trainees will gain an understanding of the construction sector and find out about the types of work and range of roles available. They will learn about the skills, qualities and knowledge required for working in the construction industry and have opportunity to gain introductory qualifications in construction and in personal development for employability.

Site Ready

Covering the essentials of Health and Safety required for working on a construction site, trainees will undertake a short course and assessment to gain their CSCS card and safety certificate to enable them to go on site.

Skills Ready

Developing the practical skills and experience needed to progress to a job in construction, trainees will be supervised on-site to build up a portfolio of constructions skill. With routes into general construction, Passivhaus manufacturing (the factory-based building of panels) or Passivhaus assembly (on-site panel construction), trainees will contribute toward affordable housing projects and have opportunities to progress into real jobs or apprenticeships.
